**About the Role**
We are seeking a Medical Registrar to join our Medical Department here at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital. The placement is for 6 months from 2 February 2026.

Our Department of Medicine is made up of 9 ward-based teams, including 28 Dual-Trained Internal Medicine Physicians, 24 Registrars, 15 House Officers, and support from Trainee Interns.

**About the Team/Service/ Location**
We foster a collaborative, supportive and collegial work environment. Our current rotations include Cardiology, Respiratory, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, General Medicine (with Neurology and Older Peoples Health), Renal, Acute Medicine as well as outpatient-based rotations in Medical Oncology and Haematology.

Hawkes Bay Hospital is a 400-bed secondary level public hospital in Hastings, serving a population of over 180,000 people. We offer both acute and elective care across a wide range of medical and surgical specialties. We are supported by a strong regional ICU and flight team with tertiary support for cardiac intervention, cardiothoracic surgery, plastics and neurosurgery from Wellington, ensuring comprehensive care for a diverse patient population.

**About you**

- Youre a Resident Medical Officer (RMO) PGY3 or above
- You are registered or eligible for general registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand
