**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
- Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests.
- Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
- Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments.
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Maintains dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
- Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Manage reception by booking in new patients, greeting visitors, sorting out appointments and undertaking other non-clinical tasks of an administrative nature.
- Manage appointment using Exact and online booking system.
- Clean the practice on regular intervals to ensure high level of hygiene is maintained at all times.
- Cleaning consists of vacuuming, mopping, and tidying up: dental rooms, kitchen facilities, reception desk, waiting room, and office.
- Ensure all patient facilities are stocked up at all times including water cooler bottle, disposable cups, paper towels, toilet rolls, and hand wash.
- Handling payment from patients (cash, cards, Q Card, Insurance, ZIP, AfterPay, Humm, Genoapay, ACC and WINZ claims)
**Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications**
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- Successful completion of a dental assistant qualification or similar
- 2+ years’ experience as a Dental Assistant and or receptionist
- Comprehensive understanding of dental instruments
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong knowledge of computer programs such as MS Office and EXACT dental software
