As a Gate In Officer, you are primarily responsible for the timely receipt, handling, transit and delivery of all inbound and outbound containers from our KiwiRail Container Terminal. This includes ensuring all containers are gated in and out, that temperature control checks are conducted as required and all corresponding documentation is complete and correct. You will be responsible for ensuring that cargo movements are transacted within the requirements specified by NZ Customs, MAF and shipping lines and maintaining a container inventory which accurately reflects the containers that are on the site.

**What you’ll need**

We care for our customers and are looking to find someone who excels in their customer service skills, has an approachable manner and enjoys engaging with various stakeholders with at times competing demands. If you are a process driven person with high attention to detail and if you have a passion for continuous process improvement this might be the right opportunity for your next role.
- High level of computer skills and be familiar with MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Full, clean Class 1 Drivers Licence as you will be driving a vehicle on site
- Natural communicator and team player with a drive to achieve the best results for the business and our customers
- Experience in Logistics, Cargo, Freight Forwarding or Customer Service would be advantageous
- Willingness to be flexible working a roster including morning and afternoon shifts but with a requirement for night shift availability as well.

- A competitive hourly rate of $27.81 + time and a half Saturdays & double time Sundays (rosters run Mondays - Saturdays at the moment).
