**About the opportunity**:
Our client is seeking civil construction workers to join their busy team on Healthy Water’s projects This includes stream rehabilitation, landscaping, smaller bulk earth working jobs, footpaths, pond cleanouts, general infrastructure, fish barrier removal, stream and coastal outfalls, retaining and drainage.

You will be working with the existing crew on various sites across Auckland. Their projects generally have an element of environmental enhancement which leaves you with a feeling of self-gratification.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Work with pumps and/or fish barriers with the aim of dewatering ponds and streams
- Working alongside ecologists and other third-party experts
- Reading construction and infrastructure plans
- Constructing rock outfalls
- Constructing in-stream features such as root wads, rock spurs and cross vanes
- Operating machinery under the supervision of senior staff
- Assisting with concrete pours for new footpaths and other civil structures
- Footpath concrete demolition, relaying new concrete and asphalt
- Concrete boxing and formwork
- Kerb and channel preparation
- Assisting in setting up laser levels and taking readings
- Assisting with backfilling
- Levelling and compacting
- Removal of old piping and assisting with new pipe laying
- Working around live services

**This role will suit someone with all or some following background/experience/qualities**:

- Previous experience in civil construction is an advantage but not essential
- Machine operating experience and endorsements are highly advantageous
- Reliable transport to-and-from site or our yard in Waitoki required
