An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Java Developer to join our Wellington Applications Development within DXC Technology. The focus will be in supporting our banking clients and potentially working across a number of different accounts. This position will see you sit in Applications Development practice providing advice to customers in a role which has a client facing aspect. This role will see you working on a variety of key projects with local and offshore teams responsible for the definition, analysis, design, development and maintenance of information technology solutions that meet client business needs in the areas of Object-Oriented technologies. We are looking for high performing individuals to join this innovative team.

**Education and Experience Required**:
IT related bachelor’s degree preferred.
Java Certification preferred

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Essential skills
- Microservices with Spring Boot
- Spring Framework
- Strong Core Java, Java 8+
- Cloud Data Flow
- Message Brokers such as Solace Pub/Sub+, Kafka
- GKE
- One or more in testing frameworks such as Junit, Mockito, Power Mockito, mountebank
- Good knowledge of CICD pipeline, Jenkins, Bamboo, Maven
- Open API 2.0+, Swagger
- No SQL DB (MongoDB)
- Design Patterns
- Strong in GIT flows
- Exposure to distributed storage technologies e.g. S3 and HDFS will be preferred.
- Relevant Experiences
- Strong experience in projects with Rest APIs
- Highly experienced in creating Rest API specifications (Open API)
- Mastery in core JAVA with relevant experience.
- Strong experience in projected executed using agile methodologies.
- Good practical understanding in Containerisation (Docker) and Container Management Platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift, GKE etc.) and CI/CD activities.

The key to your success in this role will be your logical thinking and problem solving, effective communication, a self-starter, being a team player, and self-organised and passionate about technology.

Excellent inter-personal skills will enable you to become an accepted and respected senior designer/developer of an established team. Additionally, you will have outstanding verbal communication, highly developed documentation skills, defect communication and adept liaison between testing and development teams.

In particular it would be highly desirable for you to have previous experience working in Agile developments.
