Joining the Grocery Non Foods team is the perfect opportunity to take on a large and strategic category within the Merchandise department We’re a team who thrive on working collaboratively with our suppliers and store teams to drive strategies and reach our business goals to ensure we’re continuing to deliver on our purpose of making Kiwis lives better everyday by providing the best range, value and convenience for our customers.

**About the Role | Mō te Tūranga**
At the heart of this role we focus on putting our customers, team and suppliers first whilst delivering great solutions around our Grocery Everyday Needs category strategies through procurement, promotions, price and placement initiatives. It’s a challenging but rewarding role within our Grocery Non Foods department and one where you’ll play a key part in ensuring we’re continuing to make Kiwis’ lives a little better every day.

**About You | Mōu**
You’ll be a natural problem solver, a mover and shaker within complex and changing environments. You will have some retail based experience, ideally from within FMCG and you will have a desire to become a Category Manager in the future. Your ability to digest data and make insightful, actionable recommendations is paramount. We are looking for someone with tenacity, great analytical skills, personality and influence.

Some of your new responsibilities will be:

- Delivering customer focused strategy through effective management of product, price, promotion and placement
- Maintaining awareness of product trends, availability, and customer preferences
- Understanding of buying and selling patterns, impacts on the category
- Maintaining high level relationships with vendors and partners
- Collaborating across functions to ensure efficient, on time delivery of products
- Developing longer-term plans and recommendations across products/categories
- Managing and controlling sales to budget
- Assist in Category reviews and buying projects
