- Join us as a Maintenance Operator/STMS in Timaru_

In this role you will operate machinery and perform traffic management (STMS) tasks across our two heavy maintenance crews, completing stabilising, dig-out repairs and drainage throughout the Timaru District. Fulton Hogan have been working alongside Timaru District Council for many years, this is an established contract, and we pride ourselves on maintaining a collaborative approach with our client. You will help deliver work for our client safely, on time and to the highest quality standard.

In addition to the above you will:

- Operate various plant and machinery used for maintenance works, such as, rollers, diggers, trucks etc. (you will be a competent and versatile operator)
- Supervise temporary traffic management on various worksites in line with current codes of practice
- Ensure all plant and work sites are kept in a safe and tidy condition.
- Ensure the health and safety of you, your team and the public.

Previous experience operating machinery in a maintenance environment is preferred but not essential, we will provide the tools necessary to get you up to scratch. All we need from you is a positive attitude and of course a readiness to continue building a career in contracting.

We’re looking for someone with:

- A Full Clean Class 1 Drivers Licence (Class 2 beneficial)
- WTR endorsements
- STMS Cat A/B Qualification or working towards
- Previous experience operating around plant and machinery.
- The ability to read, understand and implement Traffic Management Plans is advantageous.
- A proactive approach to health and safety - its our #1 priority
- The ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- A positive attitude and the willingness to learn and upskill.
