**What you’ll be doing**:
This role is all about delivering investment proposals for fibre broadband services to our regulator, the Commerce Commission. As one of our Regulatory Planning Leads you’ll work with finance and business teams to develop, refine and stress test medium to longer term expenditure forecasts. You’ll also help ensure our presentation and explanation of this expenditure is clear and accessible to the regulator and other stakeholders.
You’ll be part of a hugely collaborative and high-profile team, have daily interaction with business teams and enjoy a varied mix of work.
**What you’ll bring to the table**:
Having a real passion for what you do is a great start. You’ll also:
- Work with business teams to develop fit for purpose and best practice expenditure forecasts including good modelling practice and clearly documenting methods, inputs, assumptions, judgements.
- Support testing of forecasts through internal review, assurance, independent verification, Commerce Commission evaluation and approval processes.
- Capture and communicate insights to assist the business to interpret and understand approved allowances, regulatory settings, and Commission expectations.
- Contribute to development of stakeholder consultation materials and price quality (PQ) proposals to the Commerce Commission
To set you up for success you’ll need:
- Experience preparing expenditure forecasts in a regulatory or business context
- Experience working within a large or complex organisation
- Degree in economics, accounting, engineering, or similar
- Strong numeracy and ability to understand financial models, capture insights and concisely communicate findings
- To be an independent self-thinker, highly motivated and proactive in approach
- To have a collaborative style and be a builder of strong working relationships
- The ability to be flexible in dealing with conflicting priorities and changing requirements
