**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Pūkenga/Pūkenga Matua - Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to join the Initial Teacher Education team within Te Whānau o Ako Pai - School of Education, on a permanent, full-time basis. This position will commence as soon as possible.
Contribution to Hautūtanga/leadership to the profession, University, Faculty and School and engagement in scholarly and administrative services is also expected.
**Ō pūmanawa - About you**
You will have completed (or be close to completing) a PhD in Education and have experience and specialisation in applied research related to primary education and/or teacher education. Registration and certification (or eligibility for registration and certification) with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand is essential.
You will be able to effectively engage and mentor students from different backgrounds, and also demonstrate the ability to work collegially in a team, contribute effectively to the administration of the Primary Initial Teacher Education programmes and provide evidence of a commitment to our obligations to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in an academic and professional context. The School of Education holds a commitment to research and teaching that engages with mātauranga Māori and reflects the bicultural foundations of Aotearoa New Zealand.
