Geo Environmental Technician

**Kei te hiahia mātou ki ōu | We want your skills** *** We are looking for a technician at the beginner to intermediate level to join our team in Onehunga. This full-time permanent role is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop or kick-start their career, as on-the-job training is provided. In this role, you will be expected to perform field testing to a high level of accuracy. The work will be hands-on and physical, and therefore requires a reasonable degree of physical capability and, at times, may involve working in adverse environmental conditions. The nature of the work may require early starts, late finishes and occasional overtime. For this role, we are looking for someone with both strong written and verbal communication. You should be able to work autonomously with mínimal supervision but also collaborate with team members when required. You will have a passion for delivering work to a high standard and having great attention to detail. You will need to have completed level 2 NCEA (or the equivalent) and ideally have completed a degree or a diploma in Geography, Geology, Earth Sciences, Technology, Mechanical Engineering or Environmental Science, but this is not essential. In addition: - Ability to focus on strategic priorities of the business while delivering business-as-usual work. - naturally looks for solutions "outside of the square" when solutions are not obvious; - able to lift items weighing 20+ kg on a regular basis; and - able to prioritize workload and convey to others when there may be urgency required to fulfill customer expectations; - computer literate, especially in Microsoft Excel and Word **Mō tō mātou āhuatanga | Who we are** Geotechnics Ltd is a specialist materials testing company providing laboratory - and field-testing services to the geotechnical, civil and environmental engineering industries.
