Enliven is a not-for-profit service providing aged residential care to older people in the lower half of the North Island. We are a values-based organisation that cares about our staff as much as we do about our residents and we support everyone who becomes a part of the Enliven family.

Levin Home for War Veterans was first opened in 1959 for soldiers returning from war. Today, the home welcomes people from all walks of life, but a close relationship remains with the Defence Force and the other armed services. All residents at Levin Home are supported to maintain close connections with family, friends and the local community. That means the home if often a hive of activity with residents and visitors enjoying spending time together around the spacious home.

**Mō te tūranga** - **About the role**

As a **Recreation Officer**, you will plan and facilitate individual resident’s recreation plans and implement these across the Home. Activities can occur across any day of the week, so a willingness and ability to work across the full week is an advantage.

The key aspects:

- Resident/client service delivery that provides a rich and diverse experience
- Driving and transportation of residents/clients
- Ensuring outings and activities are well planned and Health and Safety protocols followed
- Encourage residents to maintain their independence, learn new skills and maintain connections with their community

**Mō koe** - **About You**

As well as a passion for the wellbeing of older people, you will be enthusiastic but patient and well organised with great interpersonal skills. You will share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect. A commitment to Enliven’s Eden philosophy of care is a key component of this role.

Key Skills include:

- A Level 3 Qualification in Health and Wellbeing or Diversional Therapy or studying towards obtaining this.
- Have flexibility to participate fully in life at our home, which may mean working outside of normal hours for events and celebrations, and to support specific activities at times
- Experience in a customer-facing role, including associated administration
- Be computer literate and able to work with various systems/databases
- Full, clean New Zealand driver’s license and able to drive a manual van with passengers
