We've changed the way our payroll operates at ESR - Science & Research. We've recently implemented Workday and Datapay and now most of our payroll changes are automated into our payroll system. This has required a different way of working and we're looking for a tech savvy and experienced payroll practitioner who knows payroll inside out.
We have a permanent full-time role for a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our People Operations Team. You will be responsible for assisting in the operational delivery of an accurate and responsive payroll service to ESR and its employees that meets our contractual and legislative obligations. This includes processing and reviewing payroll transactions, complex calculations, peer review checking and some payroll reporting.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Relevant prior experience in payroll in a similar sized organisation.
- Excellent attention to detail and curiosity to follow your instincts to identify potential issues
- The ability to work in an agile, small, and effective team.
- Knowledge and ability to use Datapay, and knowledge of Workday or other HRIS would be beneficial.
- Experience working with data integrations, using technology to drive automation, and a understanding of data relationships and dependencies.
- Experience with testing and implementing system change.
- A solid understanding of employment law relating to payroll processing, particularly the Holidays Act, Parental Leave Employment Protection Act, and Wages Protection Act.
- Experience with Excel and other Microsoft and reporting tools to an advanced level.
