You will be responsible for the management and strategic direction of all aspects of the Electrical Team for the Buildings Group. Provide required support to Project Engineers to ensure overall section is consistently focussed in terms of financial performance, QA adherence, risk management, and staff morale. Represent the company externally to Clients and play a senior and active role in managing these relationships. Reinforce cultural behaviours across the Electrical Team and the New Zealand Buildings Group.

You will enjoy a diverse position and will need to have the ability to multitask and share your time between project delivery, business development, section performance and management responsibilities.

Day to day tasks would involve:

- Management of current and future workloads within the Electrical Section to achieve attainment of financial targets whilst ensuring high staff morale.
- Electrical design for a range of building projects, providing reports, studies, design calculations, drawings and specifications.
- Design of lighting, LV power systems, lightning protection, passive ICT.
- LV power system modelling and light modelling using industry standard software such as PowerCAD, AGI/Dialux.
- Support and offer guidance to Project Engineers, Engineers and Graduate Engineers to enable them to perform successfully at all levels.
- Ensure that the Electrical Section maintains an appropriate level of service to key Clients.
- Design, documentation and superintendence including project review, liaison with client and consultant team, liaison with authorities, reporting, contract administration and quality audits.
- Adhere to professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures.

To be successful for this role you'll need:

- Previous experience in Consulting environment within the Building services industry
- Knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code and relevant Australian and New Zealand Standards
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or equivalent, and ideally a minimum of 10 to 15 years of relevant professional experience in the engineering industry or consulting.
- Willingness to establish and maintain strong client relationships to formulate repeat opportunities
- Ability to multitask between project involvement, Section performance and management responsibilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Chartered Professional Engineer (or equivalent) and/or Producer Statement Author would be favourable, but not essential.
