**The Organisation**

Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral (MidCentral) is part of Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand and provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across the Manawatū, Horowhenua and Tararua regions. With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.

Te Uru Ruahī, Mental Health & Addiction Services (MHAS) is responsible for the commissioning and delivery of primary, specialist, and community mental health & addiction services across a diverse urban and rural population of 186,000.

We provide treatment for and connection to recovery-orientated services for individuals experiencing mental illness or addiction issues. Services are delivered across the continuum of lifespan, both regionally and locally, and include specialist community MH&A teams, kaupapa (Māori), Child Adolescent Mental Health Services, inpatient services, crisis response, acute alternatives, specialist primary mental health service, consultation-liaison MH, and specially designed residential programmes.

MHAS has embarked on a programme of transformational change for adult and crisis services, which sees a fundamental shift in the way services are delivered. Services are moving towards a wellness and recovery-focused approach in our community that prioritises access, choice, and care closer to home. The change sees significant investment into digital technologies and new infrastructure including the construction of a new “greenfield” state-of-the-art acute inpatient unit.

This role is varied with the ability for you to exercise considerable independence and judgement, responding to questions, making decisions, and coordinating the activity of others within parameters and delegated authority determined by the Operations Executive & the Clinical Executive. You will be providing secretarial support to committees and meetings, ensuring reporting requirements are met and monitoring and overseeing consistent preparation of responses to complaints, Health & Disability Commissioner enquiries and Official Information Act requests.

To be successful you will have 5+ years of experience in an Executive Assistant role or a role similar. You will be able to produce professional and high-quality reports, be able to juggle competing demands and have highly developed time management skills.
