**Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi - About the Role**

**Te Ara ō Hine - Tapu Ora**

This is a national project funded by Te Whatu Ora for 2 years ending in December 2026. The purpose of this initiative is to recruit, retain and graduate significantly more Māori & Pacific midwifery students across Aotearoa through a supportive wrap around service. This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Health action plan Māori Health action plan Whakamaua, and Ola Manuia, the Pacific Health and Wellbeing Action Plan.

The original initiative was formally launched by the Hon, Dr Ayesha Verral, Associate Minister of Health at the Manukau South, AUT campus on 30 March 2021.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the midwifery team in a liaison role to provide wrap around care and academic support for Pacific students based in Christchurch, Mid/South Canterbury, Nelson/Marlborough, and West Coast.

**Ngā Pūkenga Me Ngā Wheako - Skills/Experience**
- Recent post registration midwifery experience or relevant other
- Capable of supporting students to achieve their learning outcomes.
- Effective communication with a diverse range of others, at all levels within and outside the organisation
- Ability to relate to a diverse range of people.
- Has connections with established Pacific community and midwifery networks
- Organisational skills
- Vision, innovation, and a commitment to facilitating own and others' learning.
- Time management skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently administer, organise and coordinate activities and meet deadlines.
- Digital literacy including - competence using a computer (including Microsoft office products)
