Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne. We serve a population of approximately 259,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki. Te Whatu Ora Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is one of the Bay of Plenty's largest employers with over 4000 staff.
He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with excellent interpersonal skills and an interest in working with older people.
This varied role will involve completing functional, cognitive, and sensory assessments, developing the activity programme with the Occupational Therapy Assistant, running community group programs, and completing one to one treatment.
The Occupational Therapist will work within the Mental Health Recovery principles and person-centred care model to enhance the quality of life. The successful applicant will be expected to have a good understanding of mental health conditions and the ageing related illness.
To be considered for this role you will need to be registered with the New Zealand Occupational Therapy Board, hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate and a full, clean driver licence.
This is a permanent 0.6 FTE position, working 48 hours per fortnight.
