***Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity**

The Senior Communications Advisor (fixed term) supports Te Tūāpapa Kura Kāinga, Ministry of Housing and Urban Development through providing communication advice, developing strategy and effective communications plans, working with stakeholders and delivering a range of communications products and services for the Emergency Housing Review and other projects.

The Emergency Housing Review is a joint programme between Te Tūāpapa Kura Kāinga and the Ministry of Social Development. It aims to improve the emergency housing system by making it more supportive of those in need and less reliant on short-term motel stays

We are looking for a motivated and experienced communications professional with strong core communications capabilities, experience in developing and delivering and managing complex projects and good relationship management skills. The ability to multi-task and work on a variety of projects and business-as-usual mahi is essential as is skill in managing ambiguity.

You will be part of a collaborative, hard-working team who also value work-life balance with support and mentoring alongside the opportunity to work flexibly a couple of days each week. **Key responsibilities**
- Develop communications strategies and plans for programmes of work in support of the Emergency Housing system review and other projects.
- Provide communications advice for other specific projects
- Develop and deliver a package of communications collateral to support engagement and delivery for the emergency housing review and business-as-usual.
- Proactiv and reactive communications for stakeholders.
- Coordinate internal communications activity to support the programme and Senior Leaders.
- Organise and manage events.
- Provide generalist external communications and occasional media support

**Mōu Ake | About You**

You will have several years of communications experience, preferably within social services or government sectors. As a confident communications practitioner, you will have a proven ability to develop and deliver effective communications plans. Your personable nature will allow you to build strong relationships with stakeholders and team members, and you will be able to work independently as needed.
