The RaboResearch Senior Analyst Animal Protein, Food and Agribusiness position is a critical role within the RaboResearch team as your expertise on beef, sheep and dairy as well as sustainability will help to guide Rabobank and our clients towards a more sustainable future.

The senior Analyst is responsible for producing high quality research and forward-looking analysis on market and industry trends in the animal protein and dairy sector in New Zealand. The role is required to develop and present forward looking market and industry research at strategically important rural and wholesale customer events, as well as to provide media commentary.

The job holder will be the key representative of RaboResearch in delivering on these things in Australia and NZ.

As RaboResearch Senior Analyst Animal Protein, Food and Agribusiness, you will work in New Zealand as part of a highly dynamic local and international RaboResearch team. You take the lead in analyzing local and international markets and industry trends in livestock and dairy markets.

It energizes you to generate insights and share insights. You can run research projects independently but within the broader context of a bigger (complex) local and global organization. As such you are a key liaison and sparring partner for local and global colleagues, clients, industry stakeholders, and political decision-makers.

You will be front and centre to deliver on Rabobanks value proposition to rural and wholesale clients in terms of the value add the bank provides through industry insight and forward looking analysis. And you will successfully use your expertise also to support informed credit decision-making, risk management and product development.

RaboResearch’s combined forces directly contribute to making a difference for Rabobank and our clients by tackling a broad range of complex strategic questions. For example:
What is the future of the livestock sector in a low emission world?

How and which technologies will deliver financially and environmentally sustainable farm income in years of heavy industry changes?

How will prices and supply and demand globally change, both for farm outputs like livestock and dairy, but also for inputs like fertilizer and feed?

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:

- ** Doing research is at our core.** You take ownership of and perform research projects from conceptualization to timely delivery of high-quality views and research products.
- Undertake high-quality research and analysis of the target sectors (Animal Protein and Dairy), and support research and analysis across food and agribusiness, for use by both internal and external stakeholders.
- Engage in sector teams for the target sector (Animal Protein) within Rabobank’s international Research division, and actively contribute to the delivery of global research and analysis
- Undertake strategic analysis of companies operating within the target sectors, as required by internal stakeholders.
- ** Cooperation and stakeholder engagement in a dynamic environment.** Your expertise, creativity, analytical and social skills will be used to generate relevant insights yourself as well as to guide and support colleagues. As a team player you are used to cooperate and to create support and buy-in from others via contagiously passionate and convincing reasoning. You identify and prioritize new research needs and align these with our team’s resources, planning and knowhow requirements. Confronted with opportunities or setbacks, you proactively propose actions and solutions. F.e.: many sustainability metrics are still evolving and circumstances may change rapidly, but you can deal effectively with uncertainty and volatility.
- Provide research input into written reports, credit policies and proposals covering the target sectors, and provide presentations to management and credit analysts as required.
- Participate in strategic advisory and consultancy project as required.
- ** Our goal is to inform and inspire.** You share unique high-quality insights timely, and in an easy understandable concise manner. With publications and presentations you reach a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, from senior executive management to execution level.
- Prepare and deliver presentations in person or virtually at seminars, client functions, industry conferences, field days and corporate meetings.
- Prepare quality research publications and podcasts targeted at rural and corporate clients with a focus on short-term New Zealand-centric market outlooks and long-term industry developments especially for animal protein (beef, sheep meat, venison) and dairy, but also potentially
