We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and results-driven achiever to assist in leading our award winning Deli Department.

**About the role**:
In this role you’ll gain experience similar to running your own business with the challenge of planning and coordinating all facets of the day to day operations of the department and creating an outstanding team that will deliver growth and customer satisfaction.

Your core responsibilities will be:

- Lead, inspire, motivate, and support your team to provide the best overall shopping experience for our customers.
- Maintaining of our Health & Safety and Food Safety Standards
- Work alongside the Deli Manager to drive results and sales performance above and beyond expectations to achieve profit margins whilst managing expenses.
- Meet our customers’ requirements in relation to price and product range through effective ordering whilst managing stock levels.
- Ensure the shop is full fresh and appealing throughout the hours of trade and all food safety practices are adhered to.
- Meal recipe establishment, preparation, process, coordination with product and people making the product, branding of heat and eat, packaging menu selection and planning.

**About you**:
We are looking for someone who has:

- Supermarket experience - supervisor or manager level
- Entrepreneurial flair and self-motivation
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive, to use their initiative to plan, direct and coordinate complex activities such as planning meal construction and cooking for the three mealtimes during the day, for each day of the week.
- Being able to adapt to changing market circumstances such as promotions, weather changes, school holidays etc.
- Proven leadership skills involving managing, developing and motivating teams
- The ability to lead a team of people in a harmonious and fun filled way so that team members look forward to coming to work and are motivated to be the best they can. Being able to bring out the best in people and also being compassionate during difficult times.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Strong customer focus; able to meet and exceed customer expectations
- The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively
- An accomplished level of computer literacy and the ability to use technology to order product effectively, analyse sales data for the purpose of forecasting ordering and allocating labour according to sales activity
- A co-operative spirit; able to adhere to the store’s principles and values.

**This is a full-time role working Sunday - Thursday 5am - 1.30pm**
