Tractor Operator

Tractor operators are responsible for operating tractors and other heavy equipment. They commonly use this equipment to perform a variety of tasks related to orchards that require the use of large machinery.
You must be able to follow instructions carefully and pay close attention to their surroundings while operating machinery.
Tractor operators have a wide range of responsibilities, which include below job duties:
- Operating machinery such as tractors, forklifts
- Following safety procedures and guidelines to protect oneself and others from injury or death
- Performing routine maintenance on machinery such as oil changes, tire rotations, and replacing filters
- Operating heavy machinery in agriculture, orchards depending on the type of job advised by employer
- Operating a tractor to move supplies or materials to the desired location
- Operating a tractor to cultivate crops or to harvest crops
- Trimming across all Field Operation crops.
- Mechanical weeding across all crops.
- Weed spraying - within all company blocks, along boundaries, fence lines, drains and around outhouses and building areas
- Remaining alert while driving and servicing the tractor, and maintaining the appropriate speed limit at all times
- Ensuring that the tractor is kept clean, tidy and in good working condition when not in operation
- Assist the Admin Officer to ensure insurance and registration is updated according to schedule
- Reporting any faults or concerns to the Farm Manager
TRACTOR DRIVER REQUIREMENTS:
- The ability to identify and react appropriately to hazards
- The ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Can do attitude
- We will assist to for license conversion for tractor and forklift.
- Your working hours will be 32-40 hours weekly.
Pay: $29.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Morning shift
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Tauranga, Bay of Plenty: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
