The NZ Built Environment Group is growing, and Jacobs is seeking a Senior Hydraulics Engineer to join the team The Senior Hydraulics Engineer supports the Hydraulics Team Leader and provides delivery of Hydraulics engineering. You will align with Jacobs’ core values, fostering an inclusive and diverse culture across your role that embodies Jacobs’ Culture of Caring and prioritises the health and wellbeing of our people. You will provide solid technical engineering expertise and where appropriate provide unique solutions to complex problems, supporting the wider ANZ Hydraulics engineering team and contributing to the advancement of the Hydraulics discipline both locally and across ANZ. The role is full-time, but you will perform the role in conjunction with the secondary role. The secondary role is around business development, supporting the Team Leader in all aspects of work winning, client relationships, bid preparation and client feedback. - Undertake Hydraulics engineering analysis, design and delivery services for projects. - Evaluate progress and results obtained, and recommend changes to achieve objectives - Provide technical advice and inputs into the preparation of design documentation, specifications and reports. - Attend site inspections and provide technical advice to resolve construction queries. - Conduct internal learning and development /knowledge-sharing on area of expertise - Support the interface with the entire design team across discipline and organisational boundaries - Balance competing requirements on projects to deliver a design outcome (e.g. cost v. time v. quality v. scope); - Support the management of operational risk, including project delivery, HSEC, quality and service. - Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or service; solve complex problems; **Here’s What You’ll Need**: - Minimum 5 years’ experience in Hydraulics Engineering for buildings - A track record of successful project delivery, adhering to strict quality assurance systems - Good problem solving and issue resolution skills - Chartered Professional Engineer or to be achieved within one years - Industry memberships and participation such as CIBSE or ASHRAE. - Working towards registration in Australia or NZ - Resourcefulness and ability to take ownership of your designated tasks and those of others. - Appreciation of building construction practices, methodologies and techniques. - Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team - Excellent communication (spoken and written) and presentation skills - A positive attitude to work. **_Jacobs.
