Te whiwhinga mahi|The Opportunity
The focus of the Mātauranga Māori commissioning team is on mātauranga Māori solutions ensuring ease of access, whānau choice, and options that build whānau resilience and wellbeing from a Te Ao Māori perspective.
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
This role is instrumental in supporting and being part of the Mātauranga Māori team to deliver solutions that transform the sector through a Te Ao Māori worldview and ensure that whānau can support themselves in settings and places that work best for them and their wider whānau. This role will work with other commissioners within the Directorate including Iwi Māori Partnership Board relationship managers, Whānau Voice personnel and the Data & Digital team.
Moū - About you
You will be confident to utilise your experience and knowledge in commissioning through a Te Ao Māori worldview and have a significant background in engagement in the Māori health sector and with whānau, hapū and iwi.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
**Ideally you will have**:
- Comprehensive understanding of te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the Crowns obligations and intent to give effect to te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Competency with Te Ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or a willingness to learn and grow.
- Knowledge and understanding of government functions and processes
- Ability to engage effectively at a national, regional, and local level, including with government agencies, whānau, and service providers
- Ability to manage large projects in a complex and changing environment
- Excellent attention to detail, strong verbal and written skills, and robust MS Office abilities
- Experience in managing time efficiently and prioritising tasks as needed; and
- Initiative and ability to work autonomously, but also enjoy working as a high-performing team member.
