Masterton, New Zealand Te_whatu_ora_logo.jpg Full time

**Nau mai, haere mai ki Ūpoko me Te Karu o Te Ika**

**Location**: Wairarapa Hospital

**Service**: Community Nursing

**Contract**: Casual

**Salary**: As per NZNO Meca & dependant on experience

Vacancy Ref # 6703979

**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

Te Whatu Ora Wairarapa's Community Nursing team is looking for motivated and experienced Registered Nurses to join our District Nursing and oncology casual pool. The district nursing team provides nursing care, advice and support to patients and their whanau across various healthcare settings while oncology nurses support patients though their cancer journey.

We are looking to recruit nurses to our casual pool, working 0-80 hours per fortnight, (covering Monday to Sunday) rostered and rotating shifts. These are casual positions working as and when required across the whole of the Wairarapa. We have two bases; one in Masterton and one in Greytown and the successful applicants will receive a comprehensive orientation to both sites.

The hours of work include early mornings and early evenings, there are two shifts 8am - 4.30pm and 10.30am to 7pm working Monday through Sunday, including statutory holidays.

**Moū - About you**

We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Registered Nurses with a minimum of two years' postgraduate experience, preferably in a community setting. District and oncology nurses work autonomously in the patient's home and dedicated wound clinics, providing assessment and support, developing and reviewing care plans, delivering clinical care and following-up patients requiring ongoing care. You therefore need to be happy to work alone and have strong interpersonal skills, including empathy and understanding for older people and the terminally ill, who are significant consumers of our services. You need to be willing to develop generic skills and to undertake further training relevant to community-based nursing.

You will be required to work across the Wairarapa, therefore we do require applicants to have a full and valid NZ drivers' licence as well as be contactable via a mobile phone.
