Webb Express Limited, a well-established and busy convenience store located in Wellington, is looking for a dynamic and customer-focused Assistant Manager to join our team This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing store operations, ensuring stock levels are maintained, and delivering top-notch service every time our customers visit.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**As an Assistant Manager, your duties will include**:
**Overseeing Daily Operations**: Manage the day-to-day store operations, ensuring stock levels are maintained, and the store is tidy, safe, and welcoming for customers.
**Customer Service Excellence**: Interact with customers in a friendly and helpful manner, handle inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure that all customers leave satisfied with their shopping experience.
**Inventory and Stock Control**: Monitor stock levels, place orders for products, and ensure proper stock rotation to reduce waste. Manage deliveries and maintain accurate records of inventory.
**Sales and Store Promotions**: Assist with the implementation of in-store promotions and sales strategies. Ensure the store meets sales targets and that products are well-displayed and easy to access.
**Financial Management and Cash Handling**: Oversee cash handling procedures, including register operations, balancing the till, and performing end-of-day cash reconciliations.
**Health and Safety Compliance**: Ensure the store complies with all health and safety regulations, including safe food handling procedures, cleanliness, and maintaining a secure working environment.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
Tertiary qualification at or above certificate level 3 or relevant work experience of at least one year.
Previous experience in retail, ideally in a convenience store or similar fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership abilities and experience in managing a team.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment and handle multiple tasks.
Solid experience with cash handling, inventory control, and daily store operations.
A friendly, professional attitude and a commitment to creating a positive customer experience.
**Hours and Pay**:
Minimum 30 hours and maximum 40 hours per week.
**Pay rate**: $26 - $30 per hour, depending on your skills and experience.
