We are looking to hire a hard-working, customer-oriented Retail assistant to ensure the smooth running of Gas Station operations. The Retail assistant’s responsibilities include welcoming customers to our shop, monitoring customer activities to prevent incidents of shoplifting, arranging window displays accordingly, and processing customer refunds. You should also be able to identify customers' needs and recommend suitable shop items that best satisfy their needs.

**Responsibilities**:

- take cash and card payments for fuel
- sell products like food, drinks and newspapers
- re-stock shelves and fridges
- manage fuel and stock deliveries
- make basic forecourt and pump safety checks
- keep forecourt and shop areas clean and tidy
- re-stocking shelves and fridges
- managing fuel and stock deliveries
- Performing regular price audits to identify and correct price discrepancies.
- Addressing and resolving customers complaints in a professional manner.
- Processing customer payments using the shop's Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of store items to provide advice and recommendations as needed.

**Minimum Guaranteed hours**: 30 Hours per week

**Requirements**:

- Must be New Zealander.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Detail-oriented.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Morning shift
- Weekend availability
