**About the Role**
- Providing technical leadership from within Technology Services
- Ensuring that standards are created and enforced
- Ensuring that detailed technical design decisions are undertaken
- Leading mentoring initiatives to increase the department’s capability
- Understanding and enforcing the ALM model and what their specific activities are in
- designing and then delivering a solid, robust solution
- Contribution to developing the architecture principles and overseeing their
- execution
- Identifying industry tools that are fit for purpose and championing their adoption
- Providing technical guidance and recommendations to the team and business
- Promoting reuse across delivery teams

**Key Responsibilities**

**Technical Specialism**
- Can supervise specialist technical consultancy
- Optimises solutions, reduces waste, leverages enterprise view to better manage risk for IAG
- Facilitates and presents internal technical workshops and training sessions for relevant stakeholders

**Emerging technology monitoring**
- Identifies new and emerging technologies and products based on own area of expertise
- Monitors relevant networks and communities to gain knowledge and understanding of currently emerging technologies
- Assesses their relevance and potential value as business enablers, improvements in cost/performance or sustainability
- Contributes to the promotion of emerging technology awareness across the organisation

**Software development process Improvement**
- The provision of advice, assistance and leadership in improving the quality of software development, by focusing on process definition, management, repeatability and measurement
- The facilitation of improvements by changing approaches and working practices, typically using recognised models such as the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), the Software Process Improvement and Capability dEtermination Model (SPICE), Test Process Improvement (TPI) and Test Maturity Model (TMM)
- Develops and maintains a detailed knowledge of software process improvemen

**Skills & Experience**
- Extensive experience in systems integration
- Experience specialising in a particular technology
- Enterprise-level design and development experience with the Microsoft Stack (C#, ASP.NET,.NET Core and SQL Server) and developing for a Windows environment.
- Experience in client side development tools and framework for web development such as AngularJS
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, Citrix NetScaler, Wireshark, IIS, SQL Server,
- PowerShell SOAPUI, Fiddler, SAML and DSC
- Proven ability to implement generic, re-usable solutions, components or frameworks, including appropriate documentation and training
- Excellence in the use of relevant tools as part of the Software Development Life
- Cycle (source code management, build tools, release management)
- Proven ability in staff development and leadership in a complex software development environment
- Experience defining and rolling out development standards across an organisation
