Full time, 37.5 hours, Monday - Friday (negotiable to.8 or a nine-day
fortnight). Flexible working arrangements negotiable.
Salary range $65,000 - $75,000
Key accountability
Development and delivery of Sustainability Trust’s marketing and
communications strategy, incorporating Toast Electric, Sustainable
Homes and Community team activities.
Functional
relationship with
CEO, The Board, Sustainable Homes Manager, Community Manager,
Fair Energy Manager, Finance Manager, Sustainability Manager,
Home Performance Sales Manager, Office Manager, Operations
Manager.

Key outcomes of
the job
- Continually develop and maintain annual marketing and
communications strategies that align with the Trust’s overall
mission and goals
- Ensure the strategies and plans deliver commercial viability
through increased sales and customers while also ensuring that
community team activities have high engagement
- Effective sales and marketing campaigns are produced,
actioned, and tracked effectively for Toast Electric, Sustainable
Homes and our education, healthy homes and community
- facing programmes.
- Agency relationships are nurtured and strengthened
- The Trust’s brand, profile, website and social media channels are
maintained and continue steady growth
Specific tasks and
responsibilities
**Strategy and planning**:
- Develop and maintain annual marketing and communications
- strategy for the Trust- Develop and maintain annual marketing and communications
- strategy for Toast Electric- Ensure marketing and communications plans are delivered,
- monitored and regularly improved- Provide sales and marketing advice and reports to the
- management team and wider Trust staff- Oversee and manage the marketing budget
**Promotion of Trust programmes, products and services**:
- Promote the Trust to ensure high visibility, demand and uptake
- of services- Develop social media channels including content creation and
- analytics- Maintain our websites and work with our media agency to
- ensure that SEO is delivering high engagement- Develop and deliver advertising campaigns in conjunction with
- our media agency- Oversee the digital marketing activities of the Trust to ensure the
Trust’s online presence in Wellington reflects our status as a key
service provider in the region
- Develop and/or oversee sales and marketing materials from
concept to copywriting, design work to distribution

- Monitor and report on marketing campaigns to inform future
marketing spend
- Oversee the development of the monthly e-newsletter including
content writing and readership growth and promotion of sales
Key competencies
- 3-6 years’ experience in developing, delivering and managing
- effective marketing and communications for an organisation.- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Mailchimp and Canva
- Proven experience in social enterprise/charity/SME commercial
- growth- Experience in the non-for profit sector, where low spend, creative
- marketing is key.- Experienced in planning
- Ability to thrive in a self-directed, autonomous role with a large
- degree of creative freedom- Experienced in monitoring data to accurately report on
- campaigns and influence future use of marketing budget- Familiar with digital marketing principles to ensure we are
always looking to maximise conversion from our leading online
channels
- Motivated and organised to work independently
- Great communication, presentation and writing skills (print,
- online, social)- Interested in, and supportive of, the Trust’s social, environmental
- and commercial objectives- Able to organise workload, forward-plan, prioritise, and meet
- deadlines- A knowledge of and a desire to learn te reo Māori is highly
desirable

- Oversight of marketing expenditure of $200,000 approx.
