We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Plant Breeding Assistant to join our dynamic team and contribute to our breeding program.

**Role Overview**: As a Plant Breeding Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our forage grass breeding program. Your contributions will span various aspects of the breeding process, from cross-pollination to seed preparation and data management. This position is ideal for someone with a keen interest in plant science and a commitment to agricultural research.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Technical Assistance**: Provide essential technical support for the forage grass breeding program.
- **Cross-Pollination**: Assist in the process of making plant crosses to develop new forage grass varieties.
- **Plant Propagation**: Propagate and nurture plants to ensure healthy growth and development.
- **Field Trials**: Organise, run, and maintain field trials, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis.
- **Data Management**: Collect and manage data from field trials, providing technical observations and comments to assist in formal reporting.
- **Seed Preparation**: Prepare and maintain high-quality seeds for production, ensuring they meet our high standards.
- **Reporting**: Contribute technical observations and comments to assist with formal reporting and documentation.

**Qualifications**:

- A degree in plant science, agriculture, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in plant breeding, horticulture, or related areas.
- Strong technical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational and data management skills.
- Physical capability to handle outdoor fieldwork.
