Customs is seeking an experienced engagement professional to lead the engagement planning and delivery for a large-scale regulatory change project.

**What you'll be doing | He aha tāu e mahi ana**

This is a fast paced, hands-on role where you'll be the go-to person for providing high quality advice on how to bring stakeholders on the journey as we move through the implementation phase of an upcoming regulatory change.

This role will be part of an implementation project team that is guiding operational teams and work areas through key decisions to implement change, undertaking system/process re-design and technology change, updating policies and procedures and corporate documentation, and developing training material and undertaking extensive stakeholder engagement.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Developing engagement plans to engage, inform and educate stakeholders.
- Translating complex information into clear, plain English educational resources for target audiences.
- Establishing and facilitating engagement sessions (e.g. webinars, industry forums, group and individual meetings) and feedback channels for both internal and external stakeholders.
- This is a fixed term contract for 12 months and you will report to the Stakeholder Engagement Manager._ _The salary range for this role is $106,618 to $137,746._

To be successful in this role you'll be a confident, well-established communications and engagement professional used to liaising with, and providing advice to, colleagues at all levels within an organisation. Strong writing, editing and presentation skills are also required.

You will bring enthusiasm, determination, tenacity, and the ability to work at pace in an ambiguous environment.

You will need to think critically and strategically about reputational risk and develop fit-for-purpose plans, with the ability to interpret data, understand audience needs, and tailor engagement and industry education resources to suit.

If you have demonstrable experience with utilising a variety of engagement tools and methodologies, stakeholder engagement management, change communications and well-developed influencing and negotiation skills - we look forward to hearing from you.

To work for the New Zealand Customs Service, you must be able to meet the following requirements:

- Be a New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident
- Have resided continuously in New Zealand for the last 5 years*
- _If you are a New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident who has resided in New Zealand for the last 5 years but have been absent from New Zealand for periods of 6-9 months within the past five years, preferably in one or more of the following countries: either Australia, Canada, UK or the USA then you will be required to provide overseas Police certificates for these periods spent outside of New Zealand._

Successful applicants are also required to pass a drug test and have a clear Police record.
