HEB is looking for a Super Star Bid Manager to join our high-performing National Projects team

The Bid Manager is responsible for the management of shortlisting and tendering processes to ensure HEB wins profitable work. Tenders will range from lowest price conforming through to complex Alliance procurement models. The Bid Manager ensures successful bids that enable profitable projects that are well led with the right technical solution, best team which understands and delivers what the client wants, efficient and effective design, good construction solutions, appropriate innovation/risk profile, and robust estimates. This is a key role as HEB is working on on a large variety of tenders in the major projects space.

Initially based at the Head Office in Auckland, the position will eventually transfer to site as required once projects have been won and commenced.

**The Role**:
You'll also be responsible for:

- Managing a diverse team of professionals including submission managers, Engineers, and Writers.
- Actively leading the development of compelling tenders which enable the delivery of profitable projects.
- Leading active marketing and business development activities to support the business in gaining market share.
- Developing business strategy to support market changes and ensure we remain agile to our customers' needs.
- Coordinating bid strategy across HEB business units.
- Engaging in HEB business development, including maintaining a network of relationships to support the business in the future.

**About You**:
To be successful in this role you'll have significant experience (10+ years) in technical design delivery and construction management. You'll also have:

- Additional experience in Bid or Project Management teams in the civil construction industry.
- Excellent commercial acumen along with a proven ability to deliver engineered solutions to complex situations.
- Strong people management skills - managing and directing high-performing teams, building a culture of safe innovation, trust, and loyalty to achieve their best.
- Practical knowledge of, and experience working within, applicable design processes to comply with requirements for an acceptable tender/project.
- Relevant tertiary qualification - e.g., Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
