**Governance Advisor**

About us:
Join a vibrant team who are working collaboratively across Aotearoa to restore te reo Māori as a nurtured first language in homes and communities.
We are searching for a top-notch Governance Advisor to guide and coordinate Te Mātāwai’s governing body and be the key contact for our Board members requirements.
The role:
As the Governance Advisor you will play a key part in the smooth and efficient running of Board processes. Duties will include:
- Providing meeting support to the Board and its sub-committees, including coordination and circulation of agendas, coordination of members’ input on Board papers, coordination and distribution of the Board papers and minutes (including recording minutes and actions) and maintenance of the conflicts of interest register;
- Organisation of meetings and all corresponding logistics;
- Coordination of the appointment process for new members and supporting and inducting them;
- Advising Board members on best practice governance and ensuring the impacts of governance decisions are understood by management and the wider organisation;
- Coordination of the annual Board performance review process and annual review and updating of terms of reference and board operating procedures;
- Supporting the development of the Board’s annual work programme and maintenance of the Board management system.
About you:
- Proficient in Te Reo Māori and English
- Passionate about advocating for the revitalisation of Te Reo Māori
- Proficient across the MS Suite
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Enjoy working collaboratively in a team environment and across the wider organisation
- Sound understanding of tikanga and Treaty of Waitangi Principles
