We are currently looking for an Assistant Underwriter to join our Corporate Commercial Motor Vehicle team based in Auckland Central. This role combines account management and commercial motor underwriting, including maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with our broker partners and providing market leading commercial motor programmes to our customers.

As an Assistant Underwriter you will be providing support to the Commercial Motor Underwriters along with completing general administration duties for the team and National Motor Manager as required. This would include preparing and providing new business, endorsement & renewal quotations of non-fleet & some fleet business. You will become an expert in NZI’s Fleet Risk Management, Claims & Supply Chain capabilities.

To really hit the ground running in this role, you will have superior communication skills and be known for your attention to detail. An important part of this role is connecting and developing business relationships with key stakeholders internal and external, so a high level of customer service is key. You will be an enthusiastic learner and someone who is really looking for their next challenge. Ideally you will come from a sales and service or claims background within an insurance environment although this is not essential. There will be times through the year when your workload will increase significantly so the ability to process high volumes of work and plan own workloads effectively is essential.
