We're looking for a Data Analyst who not only enjoys exploring data but also understands that data quality is the foundation of meaningful insights.
In this role you will help to deliver and improve the Ministry's collection, processing and reporting of strategically important data which supports our monitoring of the education system performance and provides insights which drive policy initiatives to improve outcomes for tamariki.
Our Data Analysts must identify and problem-solve data integrity issues, communicate effectively with stakeholders and deliver high quality data to deadlines.
In this role, you'll work with a collaborative and supportive team supporting both internal and external stakeholders and will have a wide range of tasks and responsibilities.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following capabilities and competencies:
- A conscientious and meticulous approach to data validation and quality assurance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite, particularly Excel.
- Have confident and strong engagement and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- An ability to work both independently and as part of a team to deliver data and support to the wider Ministry and the sector.
- A good knowledge of the early learning sector would be a bonus.
- The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
**About our group and team | Matau ropu ake**
The Early Learning Data Collections team team sits within the Ministry of Education's Data and Insights group. We are responsible for the collection, validation and reporting of early learning data sourced from across the country.
Our work supports both Ministry and sector stakeholders, and we are often in contact with early learning services themselves and the vendors of the software they use to submit their data.
In addition to our core data quality and compliance responsibilities, we provide data requested from across The Ministry to help inform operational delivery, policy initiatives, monitoring and research.
You'll be joining a technically strong and collaborative team with a strong culture of learning, peer support, and continuous improvement.
