**What will you be doing?**
This is a leadership and project management function:
- Oversee the design of hardware, software and firmware development for standardised production equipment to achieve development objectives.
- Design for Manufacturing: collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise equipment and software designs for efficient manufacturing processes, considering cost, quality, efficiencies and scalability.
- Manage equipment installation, technology transfer and ongoing technical support at local and overseas production plants.
- Continuously assess and improve quality control measures, systems and processes, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency, reduced cycle times, enhanced productivity and quality outcomes.
- Identify, grow, mentor and develop high potential performers so as to assist with succession planning. Coach new skills and processes, and nurture a highly motivated and commercially savvy team that is excited by the opportunity to compete with the best in the world.
**Who are we looking for?**
- BSc or BE in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar. A higher level qualification (ME, PhD or MBA) will be viewed favourably.
- Proven experience in R&D leadership roles within the electronics, semi-conductor or production equipment manufacturing sectors.
- Ability to manage product development and complex projects from inception to product release via a rigorous process to meet an aggressive schedule.
- Have a solid grounding in Design for Manufacture methodology and execution.
- You are able to take a high level strategic view as well as manage the detail and day to day operational needs of the team.
- You have shown that you can recruit, develop and grow the competencies of the team, resulting in a team with the skills, abilities and motivation to compete on the world stage.
