Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school with a roll of up to 24,000 ākonga (students) at any point of time. We provide personalised and authentic learning programmes through distance education from early childhood to NCEA Level 3, including to young adult and adult learners.
Our vision is to enable our ākonga to achieve their educational and personal goals, empowering them to become engaged and contributing members of their communities.
Our ākonga are at the centre of all we do. Our learning programmes are flexible, enabling us to respond to diverse ākonga needs Ki te tī, ki te tā, ki te katoa - Anytime, anywhere, anyone.
**Teaching at Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu**
Kaiako at Te Kura engage with our ākonga online and face-to-face at huinga ako (advisories) and events, and also work onsite with colleagues in our regional offices. Te Kura aims to provide flexible working arrangements, so Kaiako are able to request to work from home for up to two days per week.
**Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this position**:
This is an amazing opportunity to teach our New Zealand Year 1 - 6 students who are living overseas. We are looking for a creative, innovative Kaiako (teacher) who is experienced teaching across the curriculum levels to join our team in the Wellington office. There is flexibility with this position, but we are interested to know your experience teaching across, Year 1- 6.
Your willingness to learn, innovate, work collaboratively, and build relationships, along with a sound knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and assessment requirements are essential.
This role requires someone who, is willing to learn, and is a problem solver.
Our programme uses various online communication tools, so you need to be able to be digitally literate and capable with technology.
