Gib Fixer

Sahib Wall and Ceiling Limited seeks an experienced Gib Fixer to hang, tape, finish, and sand plasterboard walls and ceilings across Auckland job sites. Must be physically fit, safety-conscious, and able to work at least 30 hours per week (ability to work up to 40 hours preferred).

Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and install plasterboard sheets on walls and ceilings according to project
- Secure Gib to timber, steel, or other framing using screws, nails, or adhesives.
- Tape, plaster, and finish all joints, corners, and edges to a smooth, paint-ready surface.
- Read and interpret building plans, specifications, and drawings.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and maintain equipment.
- Work collaboratively with other trades (painters, builders, ceiling installers, etc.) to ensure project completion.
- Maintain compliance with workplace health and safety standards at all times.
- Travel between sites within the Auckland region as required.

Applicant Criteria:

- Demonstrated Gib Fixer or plasterboard installation experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce smooth finishes
- Understand and follow safe work practices
- Reliable and punctual, with own transport preferred

Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 45 per week
