**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a permanent part time Nurse Educator at Kenepuru Medical Day Ward. This role will work alongside the existing part time Nurse Educator and will provide clinical leadership in the department to bring about practice improvements and ensure ever higher levels of safe and competent practice. The Nurse Educator will provide and support the implementation of organisational initiatives and supporting change implementation. This role is critical in ensuring and maintaining essential nursing standards and leading the implementation of nursing education, change and skill development.
The MDW at Kenepuru Hospital is an important part of Wellington Districts secondary as well as tertiary service delivery model for the sub-regional populations it serves. KMDW is particularly important for gastroenterology, neurology, immunology, pre-surgical infusions, blood and cancer treatments and suitable ambulatory infusions. The medical day ward has a strong focus on teamwork and a commitment to excellent standards of nursing care.
**Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team**
The MDW is a nurse led unit working in collaboration with multiple specialties to deliver care to our patients attending the MDW. KMDW is particularly important for gastroenterology, neurology, immunology, pre-surgical infusions, blood and cancer treatments and suitable ambulatory infusions. The Medical Day Ward has a strong focus on teamwork and a commitment to excellent standards of nursing care.
**Moū - About you**
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Strong communication skills
- Current APC
- Strong communication skills
- Positive, enthusiastic, flexible manner
- 5 years and more nursing experience in chemotherapy, blood product transfusion, and infusions
- Experience in administration of chemotherapy, EVIQ competent or training
- Experience in cannulation and central vascular access device (CVAD)
