We are currently seeking to employ an Estimator to our Transmission Projects team based at our Palmerston North depot. In this role, you will carry out estimating services to support the Perimeter/Business Unit Business Plan and achieve Omexom’s market share of work at a planned profit margin or better.

**About the Role**

- Familiarity with and adherence to tendering procedures, including approval to tender, bid/no bid & supplier / subcontractor pricing processes.
- Development of estimate programmes / timetables.
- Development of bid strategy and value engineering / innovation / cost optimisation options
- Ensuring all client contracts / terms and conditions, including insurance and bond provisions, are reviewed by the Commercial Manager
- Development of cost estimates, including cashflows from first principles and / or valid historical data, accurately scoping and quantifying the elements of the works being estimated and identify relevant productivities for the area being estimated
- Critically reviewing estimate components compiled by other contributors, including suppliers, subcontractors and consultants
- Preparing comprehensive comparisons of supplier / subcontractor / consultant quotations
- Identifying assumptions and qualifications within tender documents
- Development of risk assessments and including for risk in pricing
- Development of project programmes / schedules, including work breakdown structures
- Ensuring Involvement of stakeholders such as project managers, in the tender development and review process
- Writing registrations and expressions of interest documents and bid submission documents
- Creating tender presentations for internal approvals and for clients
- Negotiating contracts prior to award
- Preparing handover meetings and documentation for project delivery teams
- Build relationships with new and existing clients
- Recording of tender activity
- Supporting the Business Unit / delivery teams with general tasks
- Carrying out estimate reviews following project completion

**About you**
- Knowledge of the electrical industry with experience in commercial, industrial, infrastructure and maintenance sectors
- Knowledge of electrical regulations, industry requirements, contracting procedures and contract law
- Computer Skills - Microsoft suite (including Excel, Word and Project) and Candy estimation software
- Electrical Practising Licence or similar
