Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Joining our Data & Digital team, you will be a member of our National Digital Services Capabilities leadership team who share the collective accountability for maintaining and enhancing technology services, as well as implementing and supporting Te Whatu Ora priorities. You will work closely with the other members of the capabilities leadership team and also across the wider group to ensure that the capability area you lead meets the needs of the organisation.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the people, processes, and technology associated with the Quality and Testing capability are fit for purpose, easily consumed, and meet the needs of practice consumers across Data & Digital and the wider organisation. You will operate at the practice leadership and people leadership level to ensure that the quality and testing capability is well understood, easily accessible, fit for purpose, and delivering value.
Operating in a matrix delivery model, you will lead team members in the practice as well as Te Whatu Ora vendors to ensure common ways of working and that quality and testing commitments are delivered to the agreed standard. This includes ensuring that the team has the necessary skills and resources to deliver projects successfully, as well as ensuring that the team's processes and technology are aligned with the needs of the organisation.
Mōu | About you
As an experienced Quality and Testing leader, you will have a strong understanding of the quality and testing landscape and be able to bring new ideas and best practices to the team. You will have the ability to lead, motivate and inspire a team of professionals, build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and bring along your strong communication and problem-solving skills. The role blends people leadership with practice leadership and you'll be someone who can turn theory into practice and show creativity when solving problems.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**:
- Seasoned experience in a similar role in a large and complex organisation.
- Experience in a relevant ICT leadership role with a background in ICT management including working with internal and external stakeholders
- Significant experience and knowledge in testing, automation and quality assurance
- Strong project management skills such as managing costs, resources and workflows in a required task
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and encourage teams in an environment of change, financial prudence and an increasing level of digital maturity across the organisation
- Proven relationship building skills and well-developed communication skills.
- Proven ability in managing suppliers and vendors.
- Strong financial management of operational budgets
- Demonstrated intuition and the ability to balance good process with the need to make clear decisions in demanding situations such as. priority service outages.
- Demonstrated ability to work under tight timeframes and manage competing priorities while remaining resilient under pressure.
Previous work experience in the Health Sector or Government would be desirable for success in this role.
