Right now we have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Specialist to join our team based in Christchurch.

The key purpose of this role will be to provide assurance of Tegels technical services (food safety and quality, animal health and welfare) as itrelates to processing. We need someone who willpromote and champion internal and external audits and a culture where everyone takes personal ownership for quality.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide assurance to Technical Manager (Christchurch) that operations are implementing the technical services systems as intended
- Internal/external audits
- Assessment and communication of risk for technical services quality systems for regulatory and customer affairs
- Continuous improvement and added value for outcomes of technical services

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
- A strong practical knowledge of the animal products food industry including, internal auditing, analysis, report writing, food safety, microbiology, food technology, animal health and welfare and quality management systems.
- Proven experience and knowledge in facilitating and leading external audits
- A demonstrated ability to build relationships with a wide range of people internally and externally, eg. Auditors, customers, certifiers
- Proven experience in risk assessment and risk management recommendations and decisions
- The ability to communicate in a constructive, influential and professional manner, both written and verbal.
- The ability to provide technical training and mentor others as required eg. Staff in the processing plant.
