Classics offers a range of undergraduate courses in Classical Studies, as well as both Greek and Latin (from the introductory level for beginners). Our students are progressively taught aspects of the ancient cultures that existed in the Mediterranean area from the Bronze Age to the Roman Empire. Research-informed courses focus on studying the cultural importance of artistic, archaeological, literary and historical sources, while also linking this material to cross-cultural perspectives, cross-disciplinary approaches, and modern reception studies. - A PhD in a field relevant.
- An excellent research profile along with a commitment to and/or established connections with international and/or national researchers.
- Demonstrated ability in teaching Greek History as well as Ancient Greek and Latin language courses at all levels.
- A commitment to contribute to teaching and learning environments that support engagement of students and staff with te ao Mori, te reo Mori and mtauranga Mori.

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), permanent (confirmation path) position.
The full-time salary scale for a Lecturer is $87,152 to $103,550 per annum.
