Supervisor - Construction or Roading

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

This role is accountable for supervising the maintenance activities within the contract, including staff supervision, site and plant maintenance ensuring that the work undertake is completed safely, within budget, timeframe and qualify conditions of the contract, either meeting or exceeding the clients expectations.

The supervisor will be working closely with the Project Engineer for the weekly maintenance program and ensure all resources are effectively allocated to ensure efficiencies gained (i.e. crew and plant)

They will provide onsite and offsite supervision of all team members, ensuring works are completed in accordance with contract requirements, while maintaining safety, quality, budget, and timeframes.

**Other key responsibilities**:

- Select subcontractors based on their tender submissions, skills, H&S record, within delegated authority
- Provide guidance for complex activities and hands-on to ensure successful task completion when required
- Monitor the performance of the job, identifying and mitigating any known risks, and escalating when required
- Participate in the incident response roster as required and coordinate any emergency response if necessary
- Ensure fleet and plant maintenance is undertaken as per the schedule

**ABOUT YOU**

You will need to have experience inbuilding and managing teams as well as site budget management and site administration

Your strong knowledge on pavement repair methodology, chip sealing, and asphalt construction are key to your success in this role.

**Education and qualifications**:

- Class 1 & 2 NZ Drivers Licence
- Relevant Temporary Traffic Management qualification
- Diploma in Civil Construction preferred
