- About the Role

We - re looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join
our team
Dental
Assistants provide support for a team of Oral & Maxillofacial Specialists,
Registrars and House Officers. We provide quality services that are integral to
ensuring the health and wellbeing of our community.

You will assist in the provision of minor oral surgery including the
treatment of patients requiring treatment under sedation.
The role
involves working in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery,
Christchurch Hospital.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Providing chairside assistance to the

Registrar/Specialist or other clinical staff;
- Efficiently managing administrative tasks and scheduling
of appointments;
- Checking, preparing and monitoring of all
clinical equipment/materials;
- Participating in rostered duties for dental
assistants.Previous
experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not essential, and a NZDA
certificate is desirable.
Flexibility
and enthusiasm to work in different environments is essential to your success.

- NZDA Certificate in Dental Surgery Assisting

(or equivalent) is advantageous but not essential;
- Previous experience in a similar role, as well
as understanding of dental/oral procedures and terminology is advantageous
to be considered for this opportunity;
- Hospital experience is advantageous, but we
would also like to hear from those who have a strong background in general
dental treatment or oral surgery
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability
to work effectively within a team as well as develop valued relationships
with our varied consumer base.If you do not
have a NZDA Certificate in Dental surgery (or similar) or previous experience
