Lead Pharmacist

Te Toka Tumai’s Pharmacy Department is an innovative and exciting place to work. We employ over 100 staff including those working within two retail pharmacies, and a flagship inpatient service covering both supply and clinical functions. The Pharmacy Service serves over 1200 inpatient beds with service provision to a full array of secondary and tertiary level clinical and operational services. **The main responsibilities of this important leadership role will be to**:

- Support the Service Clinical Director/Business Support Strategic Lead to ensure sound medicines management to improve the quality of patient care via appropriate, cost-effective, evidence-based medicines use atTe Toka Tumai
- Ensure the availability of appropriate medicines for Te Toka Tumai by managing the clinical and contractual aspects of the pharmaceutical procurement function of the Pharmacy Medicines Management team

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**
- B. Pharm. or other recognised pharmacy qualification
- NZ registered pharmacist who holds a current APC with the Pharmacy Council of NZ
- Management of hospital pharmacy service operations
- Experience of management of drug procurement
- Clear understanding of current developments in the provision of hospital pharmacy services
- Minimum of 3 years pharmacy experience including 2 years in the NZ hospital environment within the last 3 years
- Evidence of senior clinical pharmacy skills in a hospital environment
- Good organisational skills and excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills within and outside pharmacy
- A high degree of IT literacy including use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
- Experience of audit, data analysis and project work
- Implementation planning and change management
- Successful pharmacy licencing, quality audit or project experience
- A high degree of IT literacy including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
