SGS New Zealand is seeking a highly qualified Materials Engineer / Metallurgist to join our team based in Mt Wellington, Auckland.

This is a rarely available opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects with a diverse range of clients.

**What you will be doing**
- Conduct materials testing and inspections with precision, adhering strictly to relevant codes and standards to ensure client requirements are met.
- Conduct both routine and non-routine destructive testing on a diverse range of products and components across metals and plastics in heavy to light, constructions and building industries.
- As a Metallurgist you will utilise advanced specialist knowledge to provide expert consultancy services, addressing clients' technical challenges in critical areas such as materials performance testing and failure analysis.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field
- Minimum of five years’ experience in the field of materials / mechanical engineering.
- Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and hands on skill sets in testing, machining, maintenance and/or trouble shooting.
- Can communicate with clients and build and maintain strong professional relationships
- Willingness to travel to customer sites around NZ with a valid driving license.
