**The Organisation**

The Timaru District Council aims to enable democratic local decision-making and action by, and on behalf of communities, to promote the social, economic, environmental, and cultural well-being of its communities in the present and for the future. With around 400 staff, there are a diverse range of roles from front facing community to support and technical specialists.

**The Role / Person**

The role title says it all, we are on the lookout for a vibrant and enthusiastic individual who is keen to lead our fantastic team of Library Assistants in the weekends

As the first point of contact for members of our community, you will play an essential role in the delivery of our awesome library services - fostering a love of reading with the support of our physical and digital library collections.

This position will see you supervising the small, but mighty, weekend team who deliver a seamless customer experience to our community. Liaising between the weekend and weekday services, you will be an effective communicator and keep the team in the loop on all library happenings. You will also ensure that each weekend shift is well-staffed and performing at its highest.

This position is part-time and offers 17 hours per week to be worked on the following days:

- Friday, 8 hours
- Saturday, 4.5 hours
- Sunday, 4.5 hours
- Public holidays
