**ABOUT THE JOB**

Waihi School is an independent day and boarding school for children from Years 4-8. Located in Winchester, South Canterbury, Waihi provides a small school environment with strong traditional and family values, balanced with a passion for embracing technology tools and preparing its students for today's world.

Due to one of their drivers taking on a new opportunity outside of the area, they need a new team member to come on board. With 6 bus runs to Ashburton, Geraldine, Mid Canterbury, Pleasant Point/Temuka, Rangitata, and Timaru, there is variety in your week and some beautiful scenery to take in along the way.

Waihi has a fleet of vehicles including several 12-seater vans, a 14-seater van, and a 24-seater bus.

The work is on weekdays only, and only during school term time.

The morning run starts between 6.30 - 7 am to collect the children and return them to school for the 8.30 am start time (slightly later start on Wednesdays).

The afternoon run starts at 4 pm (3 pm on Fridays).

**ABOUT YOU**

We are keen to hear from anyone interested in joining the Waihi family and driving either a van or bus for one of the school runs.

We are open to applicants who might want to work a few days a week, just mornings or afternoons, or in a job-share arrangement where you do a combination.

But if you would like to work 5 days a week morning and afternoon, then we'd love to hear from you too

This is a rewarding job for someone who enjoys the company of children and hearing all about school life.

These roles will suit someone living reasonably close to the school - eg the Temuka, Geraldine, Winchester, and Orari areas.

**OUR REQUIREMENTS**:

- Prior experience as a bus driver is ideal
- To drive the 14-seater van and the 24-seater bus, a Class 2 licence is required
- To drive the smaller vans, a full Class 1 licence is required
- All drivers are required to hold a P (Passenger) endorsement - Waihi School can support the achievement of this endorsement
- A great sense of humour and genuine enjoyment of the company of young people are vital in this role

Things to note:
Buses/vans cannot be taken home during the day or overnight as they are used for events and activities.

There is no travel allowance payable for getting to and from the job, so may suit people living close to the school.
