We are seeking two motivated and committed individuals to join our team as Cooks at our establishment in New Plymouth. We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours of work per week, with a pay rate of $29 to $32 per hour. Applicants must be available to work according to the roster, including weekends.

Your primary responsibilities will include assisting kitchen and service staff in food preparation and serving, as well as cleaning food preparation and service areas.

Our business is open daily from 6:30am to 4:30pm, 7 days a week, so your flexibility to work early, long and weekend shifts is a must. However, employees are required to arrive earlier to allow time for preparations before business hours and stay later after business hours for final cleaning and organization.

Your job entails:

- Take care of daily food preparation and duties to meet the standard and quality
- Estimate daily production needs and check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure standards are met
- Ensure production preparation and presentation of food are of the highest quality at all times
- Preparing and cooking food; seasoning food during cooking; portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes;
- Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements;
- Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality;
- Knowledge of all standard procedures and policies pertaining to food preparation receiving storage and sanitation
- Full awareness of all menu items recipes methods of production and presentation standards
- Responsible for hygiene safety and correct use of equipment and utensils
- Ensure the kitchen environment is clean and tidy
- To produce own work in accordance with deadlines
- Periodically check the expiry date and proper storage of food items in the section
- Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities;
- Abide and enforce health codes and cleanliness standards in the kitchen and food storage areas
- Ensure plating accuracy garnishing portion size and correct serving dish
- Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment;
- Cleaning oven, deep fryer and big dipper are part of the duties and must be followed on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Unscheduled kitchen cleaning tasks will also need to be performed under the instructions of management

**Requirements**:

- NZQF Level 2 or 3 qualification, or at least one year of relevant experience
- Ongoing training will be provided
