Our Business Services team is here to make sure that Data and Digital department runs like a well-oiled machine. We're the ones who help set the course, gather resources, and make sure things run smoothly - think of us as the glue that holds the department together. We have advanced planning and communication skills to make sure everyone is on the same page.

From keeping everyone in the loop through clear communication to making sure the right people are in the right places we are constantly ensuring that all the moving parts are working together. We are a diverse group of experienced professionals who cover the range of activities within the department and also the wider organisation.

Plus, we're the guardians of risk management and privacy - keeping things safe and sound in the world of Data and Digital is our specialty.

**Mōu | About you**

As one of our three IT Control & Assurance Specialists, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth management of IT assurance for Te Whatu Ora Data & Digital. You will be responsible for managing and reporting on ongoing audit tasks, as well as reviewing past audit items to make sure our controls are still effective. Collaborating with our dedicated Business/System owners, you'll be the focal point for audit reviews and will ensure that audit findings are shared nationally, integrated into risk and control processes, and operationalised where needed.

Your role will involve conducting internal assessments, evaluating IT controls, and coming up with recommendations for enhancements. Working alongside various teams, you'll ensure that our assurance setups are well-established. Plus, you'll provide guidance, peer reviews, and valuable reports to management, highlighting findings, suggestions, and actions for improvement. Your expertise will be crucial as you advise senior management, both internally and externally. Your insights will also be instrumental in supporting audit parties and ensuring that our work aligns with equity priorities and Treaty of Waitangi obligations.

Representing Data & Digital in audit-related meetings, you'll have the chance to make a significant impact on our assurance practices. As we continue to improve, you'll stay up-to-date with the latest IT assurance trends and share your knowledge across the industry. Collaborating at a national, regional, and cross-sector level, you'll be a driving force behind innovation and best practices. Your role won't just be about IT assurance; you'll also contribute to our Data & Digital Roadmap and Transformation agenda. By providing strategic insights, you'll help connect the dots and support our reform and transformation goals. You'll also ensure that risk reviews align with these objectives, while also leading communication and engagement strategies with stakeholders.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Minimum five years' experience in IT assurance role(s)
- Proven experience in IT audit, IT risk management, or related roles
- In-depth knowledge of IT assurance and risk management. Knowledge of relevant frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO, NIST, COBIT)
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure, systems, and security controls
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal (incl. proven ability to synthesise complex issues and communicate these in simple and easy to understand ways)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Effectively plans and prioritises use of time
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills. Proven ability to facilitate, influence and connect people together to resolve complex issues and deliver actionable outcomes. Build strong relationships with customers, gaining their trust and respect
- Identifies problems and develops workable solutions. Eliminates roadblocks and knows the best way to get things done.
- Resilience, persistence and influencing skills to navigate, negotiate and accommodate a wide range of perspectives.
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022, the significance, and obligations of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to give effect to these expectations in a meaningful way, and the commitments to equity and priorities of Wai2575.
