**Site Engineer**

HEB Construction is a dynamic and innovative leader in the construction of New Zealand's Infrastructure. Amongst other things, we have an exceptional pedigree within the heavy civil structures market, with a portfolio of projects varying from state-highway bridges and flyovers, through to underpasses, wharves and marinas.

The purpose of this role is to provide technical support to Project Managers across a wide range of civil projects. General areas of work include safety, quality and environmental support, involvement in programming, scheduling, procurement, management of suppliers and subcontractors as required, development of methodologies for a range of projects including water and waste water plants, bridges, wharves, reservoirs, piling and other structures related works, and general site duties including setting out of the work.

Experience in civil construction including drainage, pavements and finishing works required.

Your skills should include:

- A Civil Engineering Tertiary level Qualification
- Excellent computer skills - experience using Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Outlook
- A current full driver licence
- Excellent communications skills both written and oral
- Planning and organisational skills - both personal and as applied to projects and documents
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Proven and well developed interpersonal/leadership skills
- A positive attitude and be self-motivated

A variety of tasks will keep you challenged daily including;
- Responsible for planning, marking out and levelling construction sites, including roads, drainage systems and pavements
- Procurement and management of construction materials as required
- Inspect and analyse operational data
- Maintain compliance with safety and material requirements
- Determine and present estimates of operational costs
- Evaluate operations and processes
- Test material and structural integrity
- Suggest process and technical design changes to improve performance and efficiency
- Compile and present reports, monitor progress, direct activities
- Create work schedules and adjust as needed
